I've had some surprisingly (!) good feedback about this window and feather portrait ... someone told me today that it reminded her of a Picasso ...

Now that I have seen it in the flesh as it were, I can tell the world that the feathers are real (there is some corner of a foreign field where that ostrich lived and died).

Lovely to be in the Retiro at this time of year, the Casa de Vacas is right opposite the lake ... must find out about those mystery cows.

Hello Warren: apparently, there used to be cows in the casa de vacas and you could buy milk there at the end of the 19th c.
About the ostrich, unfortunately I don't have any information about where on earth she lived and died...
And about Picasso, well, the comparison doesn't sound too bad ;-)

Hola otra vez, Lucie,
