Aquí van algunas esculturas medievales que he podido admirar hace unos días en el Museo de León.

Here are a few medieval sculptures which I admired a few days ago in the Museum of Leon (in Northern Spain).

Voici quelques sculptures médiévales que j'ai pu admirer au Musée de Leon il y a quelques jours.

Me pregunto si el arte actual conservará esta gracia que tiene el arte medieval. Lo dudo, pero el tiempo lo dirá. Saludos.

I especially like the third picture ... such an original face for Christ. On the other hand you wonder why the sculptors at that time didn't realise that nailing someone to a cross would distort the body a lot more, or so I imagine. These chaps look reasonably peaceful.

I do hope everyone will now go to Leon. I went there, I loved the place, I visited this museum, these sculptures were absorbing and so beautiful.

Outside, just nearby, I also saw on the top of a column, a pair of storks. Spain is a paradise for bird lovers!
