Kathe Kollwitz (1867-1945) era una pintora, escultora y artista gráfica alemana. Aquí está una pequeña selección de sus autorretratos (ha hecho muchos) en diferentes épocas de su vida. La estatua que la representa está hecha por el escultor aleman Gustav Seitz, y se encuentra en la plaza Kollwitz en Berlin.

Kathe Kollwitz (1867-1945) was a German painter, sculptor and printmaker. Here is a selection of her self portraits (she did a lot) at different ages. The statue of her was created by the German artist Gustav Seitz and it stands in the middle of Kollwitz square in Berlin.

Kathe Kollwitz (1867-1945) était une femme graveur, sculpteur et peintre allemande. Voici une selection de ses autoportraits (qui sont nombreux), à différentes époques de sa vie. La statue qui la représente, crée par le sculpteur allemand Gustav Seitz, se trouve sur la place Kollwitz à Berlin.

El Museo Reina Sofía presenta la exposición Nuevos Realismos 1957-1962 : estrategias del objeto, entre readymade y espectáculo, hasta el 4 de septiembre de 2010.
Yo fui sin saber muy bien qué esperar y salí encantada. Las obras de Jean Tinguely me parecieron divertidísimas además de bellas y locas. La máquina de la primera foto no está en funcionamiento durante la expo pero se ve qué tipo de obra produce sobre papel. Hay otra máquina que sí funcciona: cada 10 minutos hace un ruido espantoso removiendo un batiburrillo que cuelga de cuerdas. Una experiencia exultante.

The Reina Sofia Museum in Madrid presents the exhibition New Realisms: 1957-1962: Object Strategies Between Readymade and Spectacle, until 4th September 2010.
I went there not knowing what to expect and I fell under the spell of it all. Jean Tinguely's works are fun, brilliant, beautiful and crazy. The machine on the first photo didn't work during the exhibition but you can see what sort of paintings it produces on paper. There was another machine that did work: it made the most tremendous noise every ten minutes by shaking a load of odds and ends hanging from some strings. The experience was quite exhilarating.

Le musée Reina Sofía de Madrid présente l'exposition Nouveaux réalismes 1957-1962 : stratégies de l'objet, entre readymade et spectacle, jusqu'au 4 septembre 2010.
J'y suis allée sans trop savoir à quoi m'attendre et je suis complètement tombée sous le charme. Les oeuvres de Jean Tinguely montrent leur folle beauté et drôlerie. La machine sur la première photo ne fonctionnait pas durant l'exposition, mais on voit le genre d'oeuvre qu'elle produit sur papier. Il y a une autre machine qui marche par contre : ce qu'elle produit c'est un boucan d'enfer toutes les 10 minutes environ, en remuant un bric à brac improbable suspendu à des fils, c'est délirant et exaltant!

Vengo de ver esta magnífica exposición llamada Negro - Arte Centroafricano en el C arte C (Centro arte Complutense), que se encuentra al lado del Museo del traje en Madrid. Las obras vienen de la colección Gabao de Ferdulis Zita Odome, y la muestra está articulada en bloques temáticos como : las máscaras, la muerte, la música, etc. Encuentro estas obras, aparte de bellas, realmente fuertes y emocionantes. La exposición dura hasta el 18 de julio.

I have just visited this wonderful exhibition called Black : Central African Art, in the C arte C (Centro arte Complutense) in Madrid. The sculptures come from the Gabao collection that belongs to Ferdulis Zita Odome (one of the curators, who is from Gabon) and are presented by theme such as : masks, death, music, etc. I find these works not only beautiful but also powerfully moving. The exhibition ends on 18th July.

Je viens de visiter cette magnifique exposition intitulée Noir : Art Centrafricain dans le C arte C (Centro arte Complutense) de Madrid. Les oeuvres proviennent de la collection Gabao, appartenant à Ferdulis Zita Odome, et elles sont présentées par blocs thématiques: les masques, la mort, la musique, etc. Je les touve non seulement belles et puissantes mais aussi particulièrement émouvantes. L'exposition dure jusqu'au 18 juillet.

Premio Joven UCM 2010

Este es el cartel de las bases del Premio Joven 2010 de la Fundación General de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid. (Pinchad en el enlace para acceder a las bases).

El diseño está basado en un dibujo que hice como proyecto para una serigrafía. Esta serigrafía tendrá una edición de 135 ejemplares y será entregada como galardón en los Premios Joven 2010. Me hace mucha ilusión que me hayan encargado este trabajo, que ahora mismo está en curso. Ya os enseñaré cuando esté terminado.

This is the cover on the Call for Entries for the Youth Prize 2010 of the Complutense University of Madrid's General Foundation (where my work was selected last year).
The design is based on a drawing I did as a project for a serigraph. 135 serigraphs will be printed and given as awards in the competition. I'm thrilled to have been commissioned this work. It is still in progress and I will show the finished work at the end of 2010 when the prizes are given.

Voici la couverture de l'appel à concours du "Premio Joven" 2010 de la Fondation Générale de l'Université Complutense de Madrid (où j'ai été selectionnée l'année dernière). Le design est basé sur un dessin que j'ai fait : c'est un projet pour une sérigraphie. Cette sérigraphie aura une édition de 135 exemplaires et sera remise comme prix lors du concours, fin 2010. J'étais vraiment ravie de recevoir cette commande. C'est un travail encore en cours, que je vous montrerai quand il sera fini.

Este fin de semana ha tenido lugar la séptima edición de "Los artistas del barrio" : en Lavapiés y La Latina, los artistas que participan en el evento abren las puertas de sus talleres, enseñan su trabajo, y lo comentan con los visitantes. He hecho una parte de la ruta (no he podido ver todo, hay muchos sitios por descubrir), y ha sido una experiencia muy buena. Aquí estan algunas obras y algunos lugares que me han gustado (pinchad en los enlaces).
Micky Forever reúne 5 artistas, que además habían invitado a varios otros artistas en su taller, como Susana Botana que presentaba esculturas y pinturas.
Juan Cruz Ibañez es fotógrafo y ha montado un estudio de impresión digital para artistas.
José Antonio Zaragoza trabaja en una serie de retratos: representa a TODOS los personajes de Les Misérables de Victor Hugo.

This week-end in Madrid, numerous artists living in the central districts of Lavapiés and La Latina opened their studios to the public. Here are some artists and places that I found interesting (click on the links).
Micky Forever is a group of 5 young painters and they invited a few more artists on this occasion, including Susana Botana who exhibited sculptures and paintings.
Juan Cruz Ibañez is a photographer who created a studio for making digital impressions for artists.
José Antonio Zaragoza is working on a series of portraits: he is drawing or painting ALL the protagonists of Victor Hugo's Les Misérables.

Ce week-end à Madrid les artistes des quartiers Lavapiés et La Latina ouvraient les portes de leurs ateliers pour y accueillir le public, montrer leurs oeuvres et en parler.
